Students can borrow two books at a time. (1 textbook & 1 reference book)
Students can borrow books for a period of 7 days. Borrowed reference books can be renewed twice. Text books can’t not be renewed. Your renewal request will not be accepted if the book is heavily overdue or in demand by others.
Current as well as back issues of any journal are for reference purpose only. They will not be issued for home lending.
To find a particular book you can use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue of Library books and journals). Else you can contact the Books Circulation Desk in the Library.
The SCAC College Library remains open between 9.00 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. on all working days except Sundays and Govt. holidays.
Nobody is allowed to borrow books from the Library on someone else’s card. Doing so is liable for fine
Any form of marking or writing in a book, whether it is with pencil or pen, is not permitted. Folding of corners of book is also prohibited. Anyone vandalizing a book in this way is liable to be charged a fine to cover the cost of book and also can be banned from using Library.
The newly added books are displayed in Display Section monthly and Journals are displayed weekly. Also List of books is displayed once in the month.
Books are arranged on the shelf as per subject classified order (According to Colon Classification Scheme).
You should inform circulation staff immediately and replace the latest edition of the same book. If the book is out of print or not available in the market, then you have to follow the instruction of the Librarian. Also a fine of Rs.100/- will be charged for the careless handling of library property.
For the minor damage you will have to pay binding charges else you have to replace it with the new one.
Loss of the Library card should be immediately reported to the Librarian. The duplicate card shall be issued on the payment of Rs. 200/-.
Outsiders cannot avail Library casual membership facility. Ex-students and Ex-faculty members can visit library and refer the books in the library itself by obtaining special permission from the principal. But borrowing facility is not available for outsiders
